Welcome to KIS!
熊本インターナショナルスクールは、2003年に幼児部を設立しました。
現在は、初等部と中等部が加わり、2025年には高等部を開設します。
KISは、生徒たちが21世紀の複雑で多様な世界で活躍できる力を身につけることを目指しており、そのために必要な知識やスキルの習得を支援しています。
生徒は、学業においてだけでなく、精神的・感情的に成長し、社会的なスキルを磨くことも重要視しています。さらに、KISでは、真のバイリンガル教育を提供し、生徒たちが両言語で自信を持ってコミュニケーションを取れるようになることを目指しています。本校のIBプログラムは英語で実施されており、加えて厳格な日本語の国語教育と中国語（マンダリン）の指導も行っています。

In their Science class assignment, students each chose an animal and traced its evolution over time: What did it look like before? What pressures shaped it? What adaptations helped it survive? From changing habitats to shifting diets, they explored how small changes across generations can lead to the incredible diversity we see today.

Through field sampling, environmental observation, and collaborative data collection, students deepened their understanding of real-world scientific methods. This trip also marked the start of a cross-disciplinary science project, encouraging our young scientists to think critically, work as a team, and apply classroom knowledge to authentic research environments.
